Woohoo! I finished the game and unlocked two-player mode. That's going to be a waste (I only have one PS2 controller)..but anyways. I actually enjoyed this game even if the last mission was pretty tough and the final objectives a bit confusing . I was only able to figure it all out on something like my 4th attempt. Sheesh.
Anyways, at least I'm sort of excited about Star Wars again. The soundtrack really helps, believe it or not. :-)

Grrr!
I've just tried to finish the last level of this game some 5 times. (obviously, I failed). I'm not annoyed at losing, the mission is touch and I've gotten better at it. What has me annoyed is that twice already I take out the mercenary ship and then fly around aimlessly. I'm supposed to destroy a shield generator or something... but I don't know where it is! So, I fly around...and then die. That's not nice! (I would hope that my targetting system would automatically cycle on to that...but no. I don't know where the danged thing is. Grr!

I unwound last night for about 30 minutes with this game and finished two missions. I'm really close to the end which makes me really happy. I'm actually surprised at how happy I am about that...which is weird since I don't feel like I have to get back right now and finish the game.
Anyways, a really strange thing happened on the first mission I played. I ran into a bug! I can't remember the name of the mission but you have to escort a ship through this canyon on Naboo (at night) destroying things along the way. After a little bit of canyon-running it opens up into a little valley where there are some starfighters dog-fighting (and other things too). Anyways, you're supposed to help destroy all the starfighters before moving on down the next canyon. The problem was that one of the enemy fighters got "stuck" outside the level. It is a bit hard to describe, but the targetting system indicated the enemy was at the top of the "ceiling" (there is an artificial ceiling to the canyon so you don't just fly-over tha whole thing). I couldn't actually see the fighter since it seemed to be too far away. I also couldn't approach it since...well, it was outside of the map! I tried shooting it to no avail and when I moved on down the canyon I kept getting radio messages from the pilots saying things like "Hey, bet back here, we need your help!". Pretty funny, eh?
I eventually smashed into a wall on purpose since I couldn't finish the mission.

Woohoo!
I was in the mood for something light, easy to pick up and easy to put down. This game fit the bill perfectly. I don't know if I was inspired or what, but I cleared 3 missions in a heartbeat. I had fun too, which is always important.
I think that I've already reached new missions since the ones I just played were completely unfamiliar to me. I also just noticed a good interface "item". On the screen where you select which mission you wish to play, there is an "arc" of little lights over the top. The brightest one indicates the mission you are currently selecting. Just by looking at it I can tell that I'm 3-4 missions from the ending! Yay! (cut-scenes are also included, so that's why I'm not sure of the exact number of missions)
Anyways, I'm glad I picked this up and I'm glad I played it.

I just finished a couple of missions in this game. It is all coming back to me. It is fun, but it is also a little frustrating.
Basically, the game is structured around missions with objectives. There are also some "special" objectives to help unlock bonus missions. Usually, it takes at least one play through to really understand the objective (like, know who you should take out first, where you should go first, etc. So, there is a little trial and error as well as some educated re-plays. Still, nothing beats playing a game to the music from Star Wars, right?

I actually played a lot of this game on the PC. I don't really know why I stopped playing but I couldn't resist getting it for the PS2 (at a really cheap price). Will it be as fun? The controller issue is my main preoccupation in this respect.
