I can't believe I hadn't written earlier about this.
Anyways, I decided to consider myself done with this game. I finished all the levels except for the last one. The reason I decided to move on is that the game started to get old really fast because the levels and objectives began to repeat themselves. A lot. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I definitely felt that I had seen and experienced everything this game had to show. Yes, the combat system is neat and a fresh take on shooting games but there wasn't much more depth to the whole thing.
Great fun, had a blast playing it and I really would like to try out multiplayer.

After a while, this game starts to feel a little bit boring. The quick summary is that I feel like I'm playing the same series of missions, in the same locations, over and over again. Maybe they're a little bit harder or the locations aren't exactly the same, but it sure feels like it! Basically there are 3 types of missions: rescue people, keep people alive, and kill everything. Great for the first, say 10 or 15 missions, but I'm already up into the high 20's.
Hmm...
On the other hand, the missions themselves are still pretty exciting. It's just that I wish there were some different ones. (I guess it doesn't help either that I'm getting quite a bit better at the game...)
Perhaps I should really try harder at getting the best possible combos? I don't try that hard at all, at most I've gotten a x4, which isn't all that great.

I've been playing this for a few days now and it's quite interesting, in unexpected ways. This game is basically an over-the-top 3rd person shooter where you shoot (and gib) zombies. Lots of them.
I'm actually enjoying how the game promotes fast (and efficient) play. You have to move quickly to take out as many zombies as you possibly can in as little time as possible. Most games would do this by giving you points for finishing early. Or by giving you bonus points for time leftover. How uncreative of them. :-)
In infected, the faster you kill and the more you kill, the better weapons you get! You always start with the crummy pistol, move up to the shotgun, then the machine gun, then the rocket launcher and last of all a BMFG (which is a play on Doom's BFG, you can figure it out).
Of course, if you expect to survive, you need the extra firepower...but the only way to get it is to cause damage. If you sit around waiting, you can even lose the super weapons you've "enabled"!
Yes, it is completely unrealistic, but it's definitely a refreshing change!
