Game Play #2
Playing the game the second time, I played for a long time, and I played with friends. Playing with friends was much more enjoyable! This game really provides for great friend interaction. This game has a general ease to it. It doesn't require a lot of experience, or skill level, but it still can get extremely competitive. Playing with friends was exciting because we were trash talking, the characters were trash talking, and there was just so many options. Playing the game the multi player way, I was always gaining coins, losing coins, and even though I said before, the virtual players provide interaction, playing with others was even better.
The game has blue squares that give you coins, red squares that take away coins, and mystery squares that provide a variety of built in incentives to keep playing. I liked the different mini games, and locations, and even the lou-pole at the end where players gained extra coins and such for varied accomplishments. All of this combined helped make the game interesting to play.
DESIGN
This game was designed really well. I love that it was designed as a board game. I personally for one, am very into board games. I absolutely love them, its actually a favorite pass time of my whole family. Whether were inside on a rainy day, or outside on a sunny one, we love to get together, and just have a game night. Playing this game, it offered the same concept of a board game, but it was 3-D. I really think this concept is not only unique, but very well designed for success. This game provides ease, but not too much ease, and great social interaction. Whether interacting with the characters on the screen, or the players next to you, its easy to hold conversation, and friendly competition.
I felt this game was designed very intricately. All the characters have their own unique individual design, from their look, to their actions, to their key phrases. These varied capabilities, help players identify with a character, and feel more personalized as their playing the game. I also think there is a lot of detail in the locations and the challenges. The layouts and capabilities, all provide for a great variety. It seems to me, that you could play this game, and finish mini games, and then re play them, and they would still be just as fun.
Another interesting element of the design was the ease. This game, had an ease about it, where you wouldnt need, to seek help from a website, or be stuck on a boss for an hour, but at the same time, theres still a level of difficulty to make it fun. I liked that this game was a basic two button, and analog stick game. There was no complicated combinations, or movements required, and none of the coordination like required in guitar hero, or DDR. This I think is one of the main elements that allowed for the great social interaction capabilities.

Gamelog Entry#1
SUMMARY
Mario Party is a multi player game. This game is designed like a board game with special built in features and options. The goal of the game is to obtain the most stars and coins as you travel the board.
GAME PLAY
I knew Mario Party was a multi player game, and I heard it was best played that way, but I decided to go ahead, and play by myself anyway. Playing the game this way, involved a series of little games and challenges (mini games). It was fun, I liked doing the challenges, and I really liked that even though you were playing alone, the other players interacted with you, so you felt like you were playing against someone. For example during the game, one of the players may come up and trash talk, or steal some of your coins, and it made the game really exciting to me. I liked that this game was able to provide the social interaction, even when no other players were playing. I think that, that element is what really made the game fun and interesting.
I really liked the variety of the game too. All the mini challenges were different, and they varied in skill level. I really liked the ballon burst game, and I liked all of the racing challenges. I thought there were all fun, even when they were difficult. I liked the set up of the mini games, so that you could play one player if you so chose. I felt like the game had simple controls and was an easy adjustment, for someone who had never played, or just didnt play video games alot. I felt like everything was done with the A and B controls, and the analog stick. I liked that I could play the game without using excessive combinations of the keys.
