Competitive gaming is getting really intense. I have been playing this game casually forever, and we didn't make playoffs this season (again). It's a shame that we only went 8-8 (http://caleague.com/?page=teams&teamid=167318). So, it's been a while since I actually hopped on to Steam to play.
I just wanted to make a few notes on what I thought about pubbing vs competitive play. For the most part, pubbing takes no skill if just like to sit and hide around corners. Mostly everyone that plays online throws the 'noob' out or 'cheater' because of the steam ID of the other player. Then you have your baiters, which are the players that will follow another player until they die so they can expect to get the kill (or point).
I was playing a pub on de_dust2 (probably the most default map ever) and it just isn't the same anymore. Many more cheaters than before, and a lot of dumb mods. I now know why I play competitive and like it more than a lot of pubs. It's dumb to have power ups and stupid warcraft mods when I don't even want to play warcraft.
Down with the mods and in with the good kids.
