I happened to first play San Andreas at one of my friend’s place and it was probably one of the best games I have ever played. As I was not a big fan of the GTA franchise, I actually had no much interest of playing it as it was released. I started liking San Andres after playing it for about 10 – 15 minutes. The graphics were simply amazing, character behavior very realistic and most of all, the free-roam environment.
The game involves a lot of violence, drugs and some sexuality. But I was quite amazed at what the player could do apart from playing the main story line. There are tons of things I could do in this game, from randomly fighting, gang wars, taxi driving, firefighting, flying, swimming, BMX riding, or even have a girlfriend. This game has it all. I was able to go on a killing spree, gunning down pedestrians, and cops or just get into any of the vehicles along the road and do a drive-by. Or in case if I wanted something with lesser violence, just drive around and explore new areas. But as it was the first time, I was just following the story and doing what the missions asked. At the start the missions were quite easy, but later on it gets more complicated. This brings in more cash and increases reputation.
