The good:
-Thoughts
The game does a good job of challenging the player to dodge objects in the 2D world. The music is appropriate for the level or levels- I will never know if there is more than one level since I couldn't get pass the first.
The Bad:
-Thoughts In General
The game starts with a blue menu screen letting you know the keys that are usable to play the game. By default, "A" and "Space" are set as attack buttons and movement through the arrow keys. The player cannot change those keys so it makes pushing they key "A" and "Space" very uncomfortable. The level starts off without any proper introduction as to the character's background. This leaves the player confused as to why he/she is fighting skeletons and skeleton archers. This could be semi-obvious at first but without a proper introduction we will never know. Don't look to tryout your new graphics card on this game as all the characters are in 2D. The physics are what you can expect from a 2D game but in my opinion, this game has the main character jumping too high for too long. Also, the authors of the game seemed to have made this game as hard and as annoying as it could be making the title appropriate.
-Innovative elements
Not all innovations are good. This is the first game that is oriented to frustrate the player as much as possible. First, when you die, the player is taken to the beginning of the level, instead of starting from the point of death Ugggh!!!!!
-About the level design
The level's scenery is set in an underworld where the player is forced to battle or dodge enemies. It seems that dodging by jumping over them is the best method to advance since the character's weapons inflict very little damage to the enemies. The character's weapons are made up of a sword and a boomerang thinga majig that is shot out of what it seems like the main character's private parts. Just by pressing the "A" key, the main character shoots his boomerang without any arm motion. A minor quirk but none the less annoying. Players advance through the levels by going forward and sometimes by reaching for "bonus items" in hidden places. One would expect these "bonus items" to make the levels easier, however, they do not. Bonus items include life and weapon upgrades. The weapon remains virtually useless to kill enemies. However, if you have the patience, you could stay at a safe place and throw boomerangs/arrows are your enemies until they die. This is boring and slow since it takes many hits on an enemy that moves.
-Concluding Remarks
If you manage to beat the level(I never got there), you might feel a sense of relief or may be even joy or you might forlorn the time you could have spent playing a better game. I would like to conclude however, that this game is an excellent for of computer virus where the only way to remove the virus is by completing the long and agonizing level.
