I am really glad to be done with this because playing this game is extremely disturbing to me. I cannot even imagine how hurtful it is for families of victims of Columbine Massacre to see a game like this. I don't know what kind of morals, or in this case, lack of them do the game developers have, but the idea behind the game is unethical. Although the Columbine Massacre happened ten years ago, similar incident happened Montreal, Canada and NIU. Unfortunately, I knew someone whose relative was killed in NIU shootings last year. Because it happened locally and so recently, I am sure many people can relate to it better than the Columbine Massacre. I cannot even imagine how mad I would be to see a game out that was portraying this tragic event and trying to justify the shooter's actions. What makes this game so wrong is that it is based on real life tragedy. It is extremely hard to prove that the recent murderers took inspiration from the game, but at the same time, I am sure the game could have something to do with it. Because of how casual and normal it makes the shootings look, I think it gives more justification of the reasons for that. So you don't fit in the society, have problems relating to people, and just being picked on, you have the right to express your frustration by killing your classmates so that they learn their lesson? Definitely not, but at least that is the feeling I got from the narration of the game...

The player cannot decide the outcome of the game, she/he has very little control of what it going to happen in the game. Additionally, after playing for a while I noticed that the dialogue between players shows their motives of committing the murders. However, this opinion is very sympathetic with them which make it one sided. It gives a feeling like the two boys were always picked on and never fit in at school and that is what led to their aggression. I believe that it is wrong for the developer of the game to push his own opinion regarding this issue and make people playing the game believe that the murderers had a valid excuse for their actions.
Even though the game does not provide a lot of options to the player besides taking up the role of the two murderers, it still gives a chance to make ethical decisions while playing. It is up to the player to decide whether they want to kill everyone they encounter, or choose specific people. This brings us back to one of the first lectures in class about ethical decision making study of people choosing between killing on train worker or 4 pedestrians at the train stop. The game operates the same way but leaving it up to the player to choose who will survive and who will be killed

Because I am not a big gamer, I never heard of this game before. It was interesting to see what the game is really about because of its connection to the real life event. Even before playing or reading about the game, I thought that it is really weird to have its based on shooting at school which was a shock and big tragedy for many people. The only question that is still in my mind is, what were the producers thinking when they decided to come up with Super Columbine Massacre RPG? Why would anyone want to advertise this tragedy and allow people virtually experience the event? It seems absurd to me to see someone treating this game as a fun activity... It is far from ethical to even consider making a game that allows to re experience the events of Columbine Massacre and as a gamer to go out killing classmates as a mission. Even though I was not a fan of Grand Theft Auto, I think this game is way worse in the ethical stand only because of the fact that it is based on a real tragic event. By developing, playing, and allowing this game, we are making the tragedy of Columbine Massacre seem normal and acceptable.
