One of the most disturbing parts of the game was the conversations that took place. The boys were talking about how everyone deserves today and that they are doing the right thing. Also, the boys talked about how unhappy and upset they were that they are lonely when walking through the halls at school and how no one notices them. This is significantly different than the conversations that took place in the basement when the boys were talking about going away to college at Arizona State and joining the Marines. What frustrates me about the actions of these boys is that there is no possible explanation or justification for killing multiple people because you feel lonely. As I continued to kill teachers and students I thought about kids in high school today. I’m sure that many students face the same problems that Dylan and Kyle faced. The Columbine shooting will hopefully deter these kids from taking such extreme actions to punish those who were mean to them. However, I feel that there are better ways to learn more about Columbine or ways to get a better perspective than this game. This game lets you roam the school and kill people and groups of people. This is frustrating to me because how would you feel if your son or daughter was injured or killed during the real Columbine shootings? This game is insulting to this tragic situation; however I am glad I played this game because it made me see that sometimes video games are not the best way to honor those who did die at the Columbine shooting.

For the first 20 minutes or so, I was still struggling with understanding why someone would create a game like this. Obviously living in the United States, we enjoy many different constitutional rights that people in other countries do not such as freedom of speech and freedom of the press. I believe that these rights are the foundation of our country. But how can a game that depicts one of the lowest points in our nation’s history be made? I understand that video games are made that involves war and casualties of war, but this game, Super Columbine Massacre, allows the player to be a terrorist who kills innocent high school kids. I feel that the tragic events that took place at Columbine should not be trivialized in this form. However, as I began to get more involved in the game and learned more about the main characters I began to understand that this game was made to give people a different view of such a tragic situation. Also, the game play took me a while to get used to, and I was confused about what to do in the parking lot. Overall, my outlook on the game changed as I have been progressing through the game.
