This morning I completed my third gaming session on San Andreas. I found that the missions' difficulty seems to increase as you get further along in the game. I found myself having to replay the drive-by mission and Sweet's girl numerous times. (or I just suck at the game)
The first mission was the drive-by mission where I had to drive a car by rival gang members while the rest of the people in my car shoot them. After completing this the cops chase you until you enter a spray shop to change the color of your car. I found the drive by to be pretty realistic. What I didn't like was how the cops stopped chasing you after the color of your car changed. This happened even though they witnessed me enter the spray shop. In my opinion, it should be a little more difficult to evade the police.
The second mission that I went on I needed to rescue Sweet and his girlfriend. I had to kill a bunch of gang members then steal a car and drive Sweet to safety. This was one of the tougher missions that I played yet.
The last mission I completed was a burglary. I broke into someone's house at night and stole weapons while he was sleeping.
My overall feelings toward San Andreas is that it is a pretty fun game to play but it is probably the worst ethical and moral game that I have played. There are so many ethical problems within this one game they all cannot be listed here. I think the problem is that even though I know that the actions in the game are "wrong" I still found it fun to play it. I would not recommend this game to children.

I played San Andreas for the second time today. Today I accomplished a bunch of non-violent tasks. I went to a store and bought clothes for my wardrobe. I got a haircut and I went to the gym and lifted some weights. I did not intentionally try to act morally in the game. It just so happens that I reached the point in the game where these things needed to be accomplished. I found that these tasks were a little boring in comparison to wrecking havoc around the city. I think that violence is popular and fun in video games because it is something that can not be done in real life without consequences.
I did not entirely follow a straight and narrow path today during gameplay. The one "wrong" thing that I did today was buy a gun from a guy in a back alley. Now in real life this is illegal and a very dangerous thing to do. This is also a pretty realistic activity. I would assume that there are a couple places where this can actually be done in Chicago. Overall this was a pretty boring game session. I just accomplished a bunch of minor tasks that were not that interesting.

So I played San Andreas for a little over an hour today. I have never played this game before but have played Grand Theft auto 4. The game play is relatively the same as GTA4 so I knew the general concept of the game. I would have to say the most surprising thing about this game to me is how over the top the game is in relation to the black gang culture. The amount that the "N" word was used was a little unnecessary. The characters also talked in slang and talked about drug use repeatedly. Overall the game glamorizes the gang culture. This is unfortunate because this is not a life that should be envied.
While playing the game some of the missions were to accomplish rather unethical tasks. The first of which was to spray your gang-sign over rival gang-signs. Next you are tasked with the objective to beat up some random crack dealers. The final mission I got to was a drive by shooting of another gang. All of these missions needed to be accomplished while avoiding police detection because obvious these acts are all illegal. I have to say that I enjoyed playing this game even though my character was acting unethical. It seems to me that the game is enjoyable because of how the gang culture is being portrayed. It seems like they crammed as many stereotypes into one game that they possibly could. It is so over the top that it does not seem like it is real. I am not sure how accurate this portrayal is but I hope that it is very fictitious.
