As I continue to play Fable 2 it continues to get more addictive as more doors open up. There are more side quests such as becoming a hired assassin or a bounty hunter. Your choices even determine your physical appearance. As you become more evil, you look dark and shady, even growing horns. With more Will (magic) power you soon have glowing blue veins. If you are really a menace to the world it will be quite hard just to talk to people without them running away in fear at the sight of you. Another fun gameplay element are your interactions with the NPC’s in the game. You have many actions that you can do to them with several categories. The categories include: scary, rude, social, fun, and flirty. There are many inside each category that you can do to the people in the game to change how they think of you. If you want to be rude you can give them the middle finger or play dead. Scare them with a bloodlust roar. Ask them to follow you and take them to their favorite place. Create a dance party in the middle of town. Or you can beckon them back to your place for a night. There were also many new adventures to be had and more gripping of a storyline. The crucible is an arena which pits the player against rounds of enemies and a reward for every round being a perfect round. This gives a challenge for the player to make quick fight strategies and another high score fun challenge to come back and beat. The experience needed to upgrade the final skills is quite high which is nice so that the player definitely has to become a master of the game before mastering all the skills. As I already mentioned in the first entry is that Fable 2 definitely has a vast assortment of innovative aspects that add to the game greatly, such as the ever-changing environment, real-estate market, and social interactions. Other things that I felt were really innovative was the glowing trail to show your next quest destination. You can have it off so that you have no help in getting to your objective, but a nice element was that when you are going the wrong way it may flash a faint trail behind you once and a while. The game can be defined as good because of its diversity and uniqueness. The many different quests, the choices you have in those quests and the fighting style you can use in those quests. It is definitely a game that you have to go back and try the other side of the game. Gaining experience and new skills is always really fun and while they don’t have a whole slew of them they each change the game enough to add another style of gameplay. They are also spread out enough to let the player get used to his new skill before acquiring a new one. The game definitely creates conflict even in the person playing it. There are many choices you must make whether they be good or evil. Many are actually conscious wrenching. One of the Xbox achievements is gained by making human sacrifices to a cult. The achievement asks you if an achievement is really worth sacrificing innocents, but it does say it believes it is. So throughout you are haunted by the bad decisions you have made and they will make you feel bad once and a while. There are many different “levels” or regions with a different style. Cultures are different in other regions, types of enemies, and visual appeal in those areas. The aesthetics in Fable 2 are appealing to the eye and have a unique look. While I play on a projector and not an HD TV I can still be thankful for the pretty landscape and lights. What caught my eye the most was how the sunlight affected the areas and the glow it gave off. Every region was also very different with its culture and appearance. It was also a very pretty sight when your character would go into a fancy flourish and the camera would get up close to your character and slow time down to see all the nastiness of the weapon demolishing the enemy. Xbox achievements are often the biggest reward for people rather than the storyline. While the achievements are versatile and challenging enough for a good hoot, the real rewards are in the game’s story and gameplay. My favorite reward was just reaching the next skill. But there were also many others such as gaining enough gold to buy a high quality weapon or buying an expensive building for real estate. There are also trophies that you get from defeating certain enemies. You can show off these trophies to the citizens of towns and you would gain more renown and become more famous across the land. The story offers several rewarding moments, but not in comparison to the other RPG’s which have a large emphasis on story. I have been a little wary of playing games lately unless I feel they will actually feel rewarding to me. I definitely feel that I did not waste any time playing this game and was rewarded with a great deal of fun and gameplay elements.
