Today, I finished my three session of playing Grand Theft Auto. I’m not too good at these kinds of games. I am more use to playing sports games such as Madden, College Football, and NBA2K. However, I did enjoy playing Grand Theft Auto. It was very entertaining. I enjoyed the killing spree, stealing cars, and aimlessly walking around. The main character in this game is an African American guy, CJ. On my first session of the game, I went around shooting people and taking the victim’s money. My second session was a bit more interesting. I was a bit surprised when I ran across prostitutes. I stole cars and ran from the police. On my last session I learned that I could work CJ out and change his outfit. I also learned that I can steal more than just cars. With my 90 minutes of playing this game, I forgot what the point of the game was. The shooting and car stealing distracts you from the objective of the game. I feel like this game is unethical. The game is very entertaining, but I am saying I just played a game with killing people, and I am referring to that as entertaining. Some say this game helps let out anger. Even though that may be the case, it isn’t right. Aside from the killing, the game uses explicit language, and degrades women by having prostitutes walking around. The game is rated mature, but I don’t think a teenager would have a hard time coming across this game.
