Before putting myself to bed last night, I experienced GTA San Andreas for the second time. What seemed a little comical to myself, was waking up this morning having undergone a nightmare. What was so ironic about this is that I can’t recall the last night I dreamt of malfeasance, tragedy, and horror, and the first thing I want to do is blame it on the game. Although I do not have many specific traits of the game to castigate on, I do believe that the Grand Theft Auto series has a somewhat ample influence on our society. This is probably the most popular game on the market, and has kids even at age nine, absorbed in it. Playing a game such as this, every other day for say three years straight- How can it not lead to violence and corruption within society? I think while a young mind develops while playing such radical video games, it can also adapt to them, taking a big part in one’s mentality on guns, drugs, and sex. I only played it for three or so hours and have already witnessed(sleeping last night) the images it leaves engrossed in your thoughts.

I’m sorry to say, I don’t have much experience around video games so this has got to be one of the best I’ve ever played. Again, I haven’t played many, nor any, within the past six months of starting school, nor do I have much to compare GTA to besides 90’s games like Mario Party, etc., or this dormitory's favorite- Nazi Zombies. However, within the hour of game time, I experienced more thrill and provocation than I thought possible. San Andreas dazzled me at how realistic newer games can be. I compared it the most to movies like The Godfather and The Fast and Furious series. I loved the story line. Although I can’t relate the drug problems, gang-life, and other corruption to my everyday life, these characters are realistic. As opposed to “What can you do (within the stages of the game)?”, the question “What can’t you do?”, became apparent. What came very surprisingly to me was that the game didn’t include the cheesy dialogue I guess I supposed it would have. Although this may be the most enticing game ever played, there were still things I wish this game had not included. I noticed a great deal of nudity and sexual references that I felt made the game seem cheap and dirty, and although I thought the soundtrack for this game was appropriate, it didn’t at all excite me. I obviously stayed in the Los Santos stage but I loved how this game involved a lot of mini-games. This game intrigued me so much that I keep wondering who I can borrow the trilogy from.
