I played this game tonight and was just shocked by the whole thing. I guess maybe some of it comes from the fact that I knew someone who was actually attending Columbine at the time.
On the surface I felt that the content of the game was questionable, but after thinking a bit more about it, how is it really any different than most other games out there? For instance, what about Guerilla War on the NEs where you actually played as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara. I think the main thing is that Columbine is still a fairly recent event and seemed to be the start of shooting like that not being too out of the ordinary.
However, with that being said, I felt that what was in this game was very questionable from an ethical standpoint. Your first mission is to plan some bombs in the cafeteria under some tables and obviously not many people would feel that this is a very ethically correct thing to do. I myself feel that killing is neve going to be ethical no matter what, but the main characters in this game seem to glorify just because they are having a crappy time in high school.
I understand that the developer is trying to keep the game as close to the actual event as possible, but it is still so shocking when actually playing through this game.
