In the end I never really understood what the story was about, but the game is definitely interesting to look at and, not having played the original, I felt like it really captured the essence of the original. I'm surprised this game hasn't appear on more platforms...seems like a no-brainer.

I guess there's a new sub-genre of "always running"-type games now (e.g. Canabalt). Mirror's Edge is definitely in that category, but it's an interesting addition because it's a (pseudo-port?) of a homonymous game in 3D (in first-person perspective?) on the current gen home consoles. So, it doesn't really seem fair to say it's inspirde by Canabalt since it's source material is (probably?) earlier. The gameplay is also more intricate (more options, multiple pathways through a level) and more interesting, in the grand scheme of things.
I can't make heads or tails of the story though...
