Diablio II
Description: Diablo II is a hack and slash sort of game where the player will go forth and destroy Diablo, the Lord of Terror, and his friends Mephisto and Baal. As the player sets out to destroy Diablo, he will encouter mysteries, treasures, and many villains trying to stop him.
Game Mechanics: At the start of the game the player is allowed to choose which type of character he wishes to play. The Amazon, Sorceress, Necromancer, Paladin, and Barbarian are all available to play. As the player enters the game he is given a quest to help him explore the world. Depending on the class the player chose, you will have a skill which is the right mouse button, and auto attack which is the left mouse button. Using these two abilities the player will slash their way through countless hordes of Hell's minions. As the player levels up they are allowed points in their talent tree. The player is given bonuses to stats and/or new abilities to use.
Specialization: After the class is chosen, the player has to decide which specialization should be used while leveling up. You can choose from three different specializations. The player is allowed to choose a little bit of each tree, but the best way to go is everything in one tree. This allows the character to recieve very powerful abilities.
Overall: I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Not only is Diablo II fun the first time around, but replaying the game as a different class allows the player to play the game in a different light.
Gameplay
First Session: I created a necromancer named Cipio. I was then told to go to "The Den of Evil" I summoned a skeleton and hacked my way to the Den. Once I got in the den I had a straightforward task of destroying everything in there. My sidekick and I vanquished the enemies, and reported back to the encampment. As I level up I am allowed to have multiple skeletons active at a time. I was then told to go kill the Blood Raven. I had to travel much further to find the Blood Raven. Luckily I found a way point which allowed me to teleport back to the encampment and buy potions before the engagement. She was very tough but I finally killed her by running away and letting my skeletons fight her. I returned to the encampment victoriously!
Second Session:
As I left off with my previous game, I was given the quest "The Search for Cain". I had to travel even further, and encountered different types of creatures along the way, along with several waypoints which i used to restock on potions. As I finally arrived to Deckard Cain, he was completely surrounded by many different types of monsters. My skeletons and I had a much tougher fight this time. I had to constantly resummon my skeletons in order to keep the max number allowed up. This fight was tough, but I finally cleared all of the enemies and freed Deckard Cain.
