Heavy Gear can be played with two or more people. The game could very well be used to make a video game. In fact there was a heavy gears pc game released several years ago. It played pretty much just like the table top game. The player controlled a gear that could be fully customized and fitted with different weapons. The table top game have some very deep complexities, just like any other strategy game would have, this unit can do this, that unit excels at killing that unit, so on and so forth. There's also another complexity with their targeting system. You don't have to be looking at your target to be able to shoot them. There are weapons, such as misses, that are considered indirect fire weapons, and can be shot over or around terrain. Every gear has a detection rating, and based on some conditions, this determines whether or not that gear can detect the other mech and shoot it. These are my thoughts on Heavy Gear

Heavy Gear is a table top game made by the Canadian company, Deep Space 9. It is is a fantasy game based around mech warfare. The units are called Gears, and are basically mechanical battle suites that are controlled by a single pilot. The rules can be a little complicated when first starting out, but after that, it can go very smooth. One of the innovative things of the game is what they call command points. Command point basically allow a player to interrupt and action, and then make an action of their own. In short, it basically lets the other player "cheat". Other than that, it plays very similarly to every other table top game. There are other choices than Gear, there's infantry units, and tanks. the infantry units are basically a unit of 3 people that can be combined into squads. They posses basic weapons and are fairly weak on their own, but can kill with numbers. Tanks are basically super heavy gears, boasting the most powerful weapons and armor in the game.
