GameGame is a card game that is designed for players to design games. The goal of a player is to design the best game and try to win a vote. A player will design a game by using various types of cards, such as goal, component, and mechanic cards.
I believe GameGame is very helpful game for those who are thinking of becoming game designer. It is very helpful because it allows you to consistently think about new game designs. For example, players cannot strive for their original design because they might not get the cards they needed. Also, even though players get the cards that are needed to create their original game, players have to keep taking his or her turn until the deck is completely drawn. Therefore, they might not have the right cards at the end of the game. I think GameGame is simpler way of depicting how real game designers come up with new designs.

However, there are negative aspects of GameGame. First, the manual of the game is very confusing. As a first time player, I had difficult time starting the game. I had to ask a person who actually played this game until I could play. Therefore, I took at least 30 minutes to set up and start the game. Also, the game gets boring very quickly. The players, including myself, were very enthusiastic about the game in the beginning. However, they started to zone out and not pay attention to the game. Due to limited time, we were only able to play through the first deck and yet they got bored. I thought the game was boring because the game ends after all the cards are drawn from the deck. Almost all other card games end before entire deck has been drawn. If this game was not played in the class, I would not have played this.

Although this game was boring, I would have to say that this game was helpful understanding about game design. GameGame is an excellent to brainstorm ideas about designing games. I would recommend this game to people who are thinking of becoming game designers. However, if you are looking for exciting game, GameGame is not the game for you.
