Dota 2 is a multi-player online battle arena game (MOBA). The game can only be played as a 5v5 game and requires an extreme amount of communication between each team. The game has many of aspects a normal real-time strategy game or a MOBA game would have but the communication is what sets it apart from other games. The player-controlled units, or the heroes, have skills that synergize with each other, but require timing and direction on each player’s part. The better timed and positioned each player is, the more effective the combo between heroes is. The communication of a team determines about half of the team’s level of play, the other half being the mechanic skill level. The game has a balance between anxiety and stress-free moments so the player does not quit the game prematurely or get bored of it either. Although obtaining resources in the most efficient manner possible is one of the main contributing factors to winning, creating and seizing an opportunity can overturn the advantages in resources; thus making obtaining resources not the only objective of the game. This game is in many ways like Football and Soccer because these games all require teamwork, individual skill level, momentum, timing, strategies, positioning, and the possibility of comeback.
