As a huge fan of the TV series, there was reasonable doubt within me that the game would be mediocre as most games from movies/TV series turn out to be. However, The Walking Dead for the iPad is a role playing adventure game that utilizes point-and-click features that allow you to interact with the environment around you. The highlighting feature of this game would have to be the impact of the moral decisions you have to make. Due to this feature, the decisions you make impact the relationships with the other characters in the game. To me, the whole premise of this game is more based on emotions and actual character development than most zombie adventure games who focus more on action and violence. Another great feature of this game is the stylistic environment. The utilization of a comic book style actually allows the player to feel like they are within the comic book series; however, they have the ability to control what happens instead of the typical predestination that is programmed in other zombie adventure titles. However, The Walking Dead has been released as a downloadable game through Playstation Network, XBOX live, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and the iOS. Unfortunately, due to my lack of PSN credits to buy the game for the PS3 console, I decided to purchase the game via iTunes for the iPad. Thankfully, due to the games point-and-click features and the minimal moving around you have to do, the game controls are not annoyingly frustrating and is actually quite enjoyable to play on the iPad and the iPhone as well. However, I would still recommend that you purchase it for your preferred console or for the computer, but the iOS version can provide a nice getaway whenever it is necessary. In conclusion, if you enjoy RPG, point-and-click, and making decisions that impact your gameplay, then I would highly recommend that you play this game.
