Bulletstorm is a thrilling game by Electronic Arts. Bulletstorm is an explosive game with interactive environments, funny language and brutal combat. Every move you make you are killing your enemies in a bloody fashion making the world your own bloody playground. As I played the game I was set on the main character Grayson Hunt, he is a rugged character bent on revenge with a hilarious potty-mouth voiced by Steve Blum (the voice of wolverine). Bulletstorm’s controls are simple to get the hang off as the game gives you a good variety. Grayson has a regular kick, slide kick and a leash that helps him in the environment and against his foes. The slow motion in the game after you kick or leash an enemy also helps open the door for numerous possibilities of their death. An amazing moment is using the leash to pull an enemy towards you, kicking him away into a wall of metal spikes, explosives barrels, cacti, etc. Amazing moments like these and more are thrilling to see.
Within the game you get skillshots which are necessary to gain points to upgrade your weapons and buy ammo. Each weapon has its own power and types of skillshots to help you build the variety to kill an enemy. The weapons themselves are insanely creative and fun to use altogether. The flail gun for example is a chain-link weapon that can be used to wrap an enemy and blow him up or use it as a trip mine. The burst shot on your main gun is a highly explosive shot that completely ignites your enemy/enemies on contact.
When you are not killing enemies left and right you’re still hanging on the edge of the cliff, for one there’s a moment where you control a Mecha Dinosaur. If not that you’re doing cinematic scenes involving the environment (trams, bridges, explosives, etc.) to get you to the next part in the level.
Bulletstorm is an amazing shooter bringing creativity and hilarious moments. The enemies get more difficult and challenging as you progress through the game making you think through each execution. Bulletstorm is not like most shooters this game has its repetitive moments, but c’mon slide kick a foe and blasting him in the balls is always a trip.
