Disgaea: Hour of Darkness is known well for its very creative, interesting, and funny storylines as well as the interesting fighting style. The fighting style is similar to that of Final Fantasy Tactics or any other turn based strategy game in where the player controls several characters, about 8+, and locates them on a square or rectangular grid and the movement is based on these boxes. These action games are always interesting to play because it is easy for the designer to add very creative things to the action and the action is very versatile in that it can go any direction. The story line is also amazing in that the game is played from the perspective of a demon overlord trying to take over the world. The game consists primarily of demons and demons are notorious for being evil, so in a game where the player is watching demons interacting as the protagonists, it can get very creative. There are other plots and twists to the story as well which add color and flavor. The action and narrative was also intertwined with each other very well, the action is based on the narrative and vice versa. The incentive to keep playing the game is primarily the storyline because it is so interesting and has many cliff hanger parts.
