Finally got around to looking at this. I'd seen a bunch of gameplay videos before. Yeah, the game works. It's minimalist design and it is creepy. You are in the forest with a flashlight. Your goal is to find and collect 8 pages about the Slender Man scattered around the area. The game is dark, save for your flashlight, silent save for your footsteps on the dry forest floor. When you find the first page, the only music of the game begins, a slow pounding bass drum. That may speed up or change the more pages you find, not sure. But the more you find, the higher chance the Slender Man has to appear. He's not there, then he is, and unless you cut your light and bolt real fast, he gets you and you lose and start over. The first time he got me, I was scared. My heart jumped and I tensed up. This is the kind of game that you get the overwhelming need to show people. I want to see other people scared from playing. Quite interesting.
