Retiring this as well. I played it with my girlfriend for about a week back before Christmas. I was well bored of it by then. She might carry on the torch, but I'm not playing anymore. It feels really dated, as happens I suppose. As a shooter, it's not very good. As an action game, it's not very good. The shooting is simple. Enemies will orient toward you in a straight line, yet they take a lot of bullets and hit you pretty hard. They'll corner you so you can't move and maul you to death, which I feel is cheap. As far as the action goes, you have a spell wheel that in my opinion is cumbersome to use. Spells aren't that cool and most of them actually are pretty useless in fights.
If this game were more about exploring and focused on narrative and less about fighting annoying reanimating skeletons and demon dogs, I would like it a lot more. Granted it's been like 2 months, so I sort of forget the details, but it was this cool paranormal story about a messed up family. Maybe they were haunted or something. But they're ghosts and they're in this manor, and you're investigating something or other for your friend who uncovered this artifact and died. There is one cool ability that lets you see with some special vision and you see things differently sometimes. Like, you'll see a ghost crying out or a family portrait will change so the family members are grotesque. It's just used for rather gimmicky stuff so far, but I liked it.
Mmm, yeah. I stopped in this dungeon area. I imagine I probably got 2/3 through the game, dunno. Anyway, if A decides to finish, I'll watch if I'm around, but not doing the work of playing anymore!
