I LOVE it when games are short but engaging. This one definitely fits the bill and the idea of having to control two characters at once was interesting. I wasn't sure they'd be able to pull it off, but they did.
I've been trying to think of other games that have the same idea - locus of control split between more than one entity where controlling each is/can be simultaneous. So, not the same as controlling lots of entities but one after another (most RTS games), but rather at the same time... I guess you could be nitpicky and go for games where you control different parts of one object independently and simulataneously, but that doesn't quite feel the same. QWOP is probably the closest I can think of? The other would be an old PS2 game called Cookies & Cream, but that one was co-op (one controller, each player holds half)
Anyways...
Controlling both characters is not that hard, and there aren't many opportunities to really mess it up either. Most of the time you're trying to send both characters in the same direction, which isn't that complicated. In fact, that's a nice way to summarize the experience of playing the game: not complicated. The puzzles are not hard, and thankfully, don't really required you to be coordinated under pressure.
I guess I would describe the game as a beautiful (poignant seems to hipstery to use here) journey in a fantasy world. I felt sort of like a tourist - with a little bit of danger and excitement. There are some truly breathtaking locations with lots of interesting things to look at, and more importantly, to wonder about. The giant battlefield was by far my favorite.
