Done. The only major activity I never did was get to the lighthouse. That's ok I did all the raids! (and, to be honest, I was starting to get a bit bored towards the end because none of the drops were any use at all)

And I'm still playing. Regularly. Perhaps more than before?
It helps that I have a large-enough group of regular players that there's always someone around to help, or that I can join up with. Of course I'm now in the "last gasp" of the game, I've been maxxed out for a while now but I hadn't been able to finish the Wrath raid on hard with challenges. Until today. He!
The raid update, which as far as I know is the last significant update before Destiny 2 (and the beta before it) was pretty smart. It's not really "new content", rather they just added some armor and weapons for people to get AND, most importantly, updated all the raids to new light/difficulty levels. They cycle every week, and I've been pretty amazed to see how much interest there is in the game again. People had really started to drop off and move on, but they're pretty much all back now. Funny how that works.
It's been a month since the first raid update (Vault) and starting next week they'll have all cycled so I'm guessing that people will start to disappear again at that point. Still, it's been a good last hurrah. I'm trying to get as much of the last book completed as I can (within reason) and I also played a bit with the Titan character that my son has by now abandoned. It's kind of surprising that I've spent years playing the same character only to now try out a new one...

This hasn't happened to me before. I was genuinely excited when the new patch/update was announced. It dropped a few days ago and, I'm still excited. I'm sort of confused by this because, generally speaking, I have no problems ignoring all the big releases and announcements, I'm never compelled to rush out and buy a game on the day it appears, and so on.
So, why so excited about this one?
I'm not sure. It's not like the content announced was super new/fresh/different. At this point all I can go with is that the game has its hooks in me that deeply that I'm looking forward to freshening up the experience a little bit because I was sort of running out of things to do? (and the end game grind is a real bore, to be honest)

My light level is now 294.
I am now officially in the "end game" part of the game and I should be chasing new loot and so on. It's a bit of a disappointment, since it's been really fun so far (finding and equipping new things and all that). On the other hand, I still have some story stuff to do (from Taken King) which is keeping me going. Also, I'm now leveled up enough that I can play with my friends in Chile. That's been fun as well, especially since they've been able to help me out (tips and advice on things I haven't figured out yet). For example, I had an open quest where I had to patrol some planets and then take out some high-value targets. The problem was that I'd keep on doing patrol-quests and never get a high-value target one! It turns out you can tell, based on the icon, what type of quest it is (and then look for the ones with the correct icon).
It's a small thing, and made me feel a bit dumb, but it saved me some time!

Wow, it looks like this is the first PS4 gamelog entry on the site. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing. :-)
So, I caved and bought the Destiny:Taken King special edition PS4 and I've been playing it here and there (mostly on the weekend). I must say that while I wasn't too impressed with the demo (played on PS3), I'm really enjoying the full game now. It looks AMAZING and that is really helping me with the experience.
As soon as I start on the Taken King content I'll probably create a separate GameLog, but for now I'm mostly going through the main storyline and slowly levelling up a Warlock.
In terms of gameplay I guess it scratches the FPS itch well enough that I don't mind popping into a random area and just shooting enemies. The story stuff on the other hand I'm finding hard to follow, BUT it's where I enjoy the environments the most. And the audio. I'm surprised by how much energy, tension, awe, etc. it helps with.
