Got this for free, twice! Once from A as a gag gift and once free on Origin. Never played it until the other day, and plowed through all I needed to see in an hour and change. Match 3 colors, clear pieces, match more, clear more, etc., etc., through 8 game modes that are all essentially matching 3 colors. Whether it is matching 3 colors to build a poker hand, to mine gold, to beat a timer, to free butterflies, it doesn’t matter. I enjoyed my hour spent matching colors, but I don’t want to match anymore colors. I think that after playing Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, I cannot ever play another match 3 game. Clash of Heroes was awesome and made matching 3 an incredible, strategic adventure. Bejeweled actually weirded me out once I started customizing Zen Mode. “I must come to accept the things I cannot change.” *Match 3* “I am a beautiful, unique snowflake.” *Match 3* “Today, I will be courageous.” *Match 3* The positive mantras that you are supposed to read to soothing music or nature sounds as you match 3 makes me think that Bejeweled caters to people with low self esteem or depression issues. I understand this is a relaxing game, but I would not feel I was making my life better by sitting at a computer matching 3 and reciting positive mantras. I hope it works for people though! Me? I’d feel better blowing shit up in an action game.
