I still haven't been able to figure out the logic/mechanics behind the putting system. I don't know how to make sense of the feedback you get and what I'm supposed to do based on that. I'm not that interested in finding out, so I'll be moving on to the next game...
I did find some time to poke around in the character options. It turns out you can change your body type, clothing, hair style and such. It's pretty neat and I understand that there are limited options because, well, DS game. However, I was VERY surprised that there's no option to change either gender or skin color. You are forced to play the game as a white man. I don't know much about the PGA, so maybe no women is fair. But skin color? C'mon - Tiger Woods (not white) is ON THE COVER OF THE BOX. Wow.
The game's pretty old at this point, so I wonder if there was any backlash about that when it came out. Probably not...but still.

Hmm.... so I played the first campaign match. Twice.
I lost both times.
I don't really understand how the game is supposed to work yet - the basic mechanics of it. I think I've finally figured out that you shouldn't go for a perfect (100%power) swing when the recommendation is less than that. I'm not sure that boosting does anything (for or against, I thought I'd get more power, but it doesn't seem to work like that). Oh, and the putting part is completely opaque to me. I'll have to read the manual to see if it's got any tips. I know I can drag the cursor around, but I'm not really sure why (or to what end). When I just tap on the "putt" button I invariably end up using 2 or 3 strokes more than it should.
Sigh.
