Oops, I meant to write this like 10 days ago when I finished, but times are busy busy busy.
Long story short, I enjoyed Katamari Forever, but the series has lost most of its novelty. This is the third game where I've rolled up stuff into a katamari. The first one was utterly mind-blowing and amazing. I remember thinking the second one was awesome too. This one, it's just more of the same. Not a lot of new types of levels. Sure, you end up rolling up the entire solar system / galaxy at one point. That's cool. And one level sticks out for me where the katamari automatically rolls, and you just steer it. That was fun because you couldn't stop! Many of the levels and objectives are recycled from previous iterations (roll up a big bear, I'm looking at you), and you generally just need to make a katamari of x size in y amount of time.
So yeah, fun, but not that exciting anymore. Story and characters are still bizarre, though it's not as amusing as it once was either.
