v3 was going alright...But everything changed with the great kitchen fire of day 18. Note to self: Apparently You have to hold the Fire Department's hand, giving them explicit literal step by step instructions on how to do their job.
I lost a quarter of my prison before figuring this out. 20+ Escaped Prisoners. Even more dead. It was a dark day.
I almost didn't recover from it, but somehow, despite the repeated PR nightmares I pulled through. Still not sure exactly how that worked out. My prison is back to capacity, but not nearly as smoothly operating. Oh well.

Prison v3 is going well. Ish. I mean, I've had a couple prisoner deaths, which is really not good. And I'm really short on Family Cells apparently. But I'm trying to expand quick enough. I found the option to limit prisoner intake a little too late, it seems. Oops. Well, I'm not really over packed, it's just the special cells I need to build for prisoners with children that I'm lacking.
So, ethics? First, people have died, as a result presumably of being quickly shoved into an under developed prison. So that's special. Also, looking ahead at the bureaucracy I can develop, there are options to do things like "institute the death penalty" and "remove legal restrictions on prisoner cell size." So that's great. Apparently you can try to shove as many people into a small space as you can to try to maximize your profits. If that doesn't scream ethical analysis, I don't know what does.

Prison Architect was announced to be fair game today, so on impulse I went for it. I played it for a very short time a while back, and wasn't super interested, but I gave it another go.
It's been quite a while since I played it, and frankly I only vaguely remembered the tutorial, so my first new game ended with my holding cell for some reason not being accepted as enclosed, so instead of restructuring my wall system, I just started again. I'd screwed up the power stations anyway.
Round two I got an apparently known glitch where the foundation didn't finalize once its construction was complete. So I restarted again.
Round three went a little better, I'd had a little time to remember the controls from my botched first attempt, and I think I'll be ready to actually carry this one through for the full three logs. My 30 minutes are up, however, with my basically only doing setup. We'll see how it goes from here.
