I played through some more of Oxenfree. Like I said before the Game doesn't really offer much gameplay wise however it offers a compelling story to keep someone interested and keep playing. And at least the art is also compelling to look at.
I like how the little choices can affect the overall story. Some choices you can tell (call it gamer intuition.) Make it so that you would have to play through it multiple times to see the opposite side of some of the choices that you made in your first playthrough.
It's also interesting on the take of deciding how you want the main character Alex to be. Either you can make her a complete bitch or a fun sarcastic teenage girl or even someone that is strong and tough. Either way, I find the game quite enjoyable and look forward to beating it this weekend.

After Playing thirty minutes of Oxenfree, I've started to notice why they decided to give all the characters voices. There is a lot of talking. So much so that you start to get more involved in the conversation rather than the actual gameplay.
The game seems to give you choices that could affect the other characters in some way. like deciding to expose that your friend has a crush on a girl or reveal why the character Alex's parents got divorced or say that she had no idea. It's kind of like painting the story as you go along.
You can tell the point of this game is to tell a story. especially a story that really focuses on the characters but also put them in very unique situations. What starts off as teenagers going out doing thier own thing. It turns into so much more.

When I first heard of Oxenfree I thought it was one of those obscure 2d side scrollers that might be fun but then never want to play again. But when you start it reminds me of a movie, starting with a casual conversation. Showcasing the awesome voicework they put into it which really surprised me. Although we may not know the context of the conversation they really show off the characters personalities. The game also allows you to say your part of the conversation as Alex while the other characters are talking.
The bit that I played seemed quite fun and also beautiful. It's interesting that although the graphics aren't "state of the art" the presentation is good and at the very least have high-quality voice work. The game is reminiscent to monkey island or any point and click game, but this time with choices and such. I don't know much about this game but I look forward to what this game surprises me with.
