For today's session, I decided to switch to a controller. Turn out, the controls are far better this way. While the kbm controls felt OK, they feel much worse in comparison to what feels natural. After getting destroyed by a couple leaders, I spent a good 40 minutes riding around on a caragor doing side missions, and freeing the slaves. A part of the game that I was really excited to see was Gollum. Both the voice acting and animation really sold the authenticity of the character. Some of the most interesting parts of the game includes the dialogue you can overhear when close to npcs, which to my surprise, I have not heard repeat yet (I guess the 50gb game size is for a reason). As a huge fan of the books (and movies) The story sections of the game (to me) are definitely the most interesting. An RPG set in middle earth is clearly the recipe for success.

I dedicated most of this session exploring the different stealth/ stealth kill mechanics. In the process, I accidentally completed 2 story missions, but no harm done there. Apparently I was also doing archery wrong, and it is a lot stronger than I originally thought. However, I did lose a couple of the captain/miniboss battles over some confusion with the last stand mechanic. But overall, it was a productive session.

The gameplay was very interesting and engaging. The combat is easy, but very fluid (same with the climbing mechanics). There is a bug (or something) that I keep encountering with my pointer, but it is not too detrimental. The upgrade system seems very fleshed out, and will take some exploring to get used to. The graphics are amazing, and that further contributes to the cinematic feel that the game and cut scenes both seem to strive for.
