Yakuza 0 Session #3
During this session, I made a great deal of progress story-wise, and the plot is starting to thicken. During this session, I also tried to explore the city a bit more however, I found that there were some areas that were blocked off during certain story events which sort of bugged me. I get it understand the reason the designers want the player to focus on the task at hand and not get distracted with side activities. Something really amusing that I noticed while exploring the game world is that the lightest tap on the shoulder while walking past someone will tick them off and start a fight with you. It is amusing that some random people you barely tap on the street will through down the gantlet and start a fight in the middle of a public place. I also like that fact that you help people on the street that are being harassed by other people. In one instance I took a slight detour to help a woman that was being accosted by some shady guys in an alley, this feature reminds me of Batman Arkham City where you could save political prisoners being roughed up by the other inmates. Also during this session, I experienced a boss fight, the fight with one of the Dojima lieutenants wasn't too bad however, it was a noticeable step up from the eniemes I had been fighting before so this fight gave me a little trouble. What I find very engaging about this game is learning more about the role of a Yakuza in a crime syndicate and how important the family name is in the organization. The main character Kiryu is stripped of his title as a Yakuza to protect the honor of his family name. In terms of ethical issues in this game, I think possible examine the actions of the player and player character could lead to an interesting to the topic to further explore.

Yakuza 0 Session #2
The story of Yakuza 0 is getting more and more interesting, during this session I experienced the cutscenes with the lieutenants of the Dojima family gather around to discuss the dead body of the man that Kiryu roughed up during the opening of the game. I like how this game has consequences for the character's action. Even though this was not an action triggered by the player, as the player I feel responsible for Kiryu's actions in the game and at this moment Kiryu is in serious trouble. One aspect of this game that I haven't praised was the portrayal of the criminal syndicate. Now being a game I'm sure there are some aspects of organized crime that are exaggerated but, I imagine some of the content surrounding Yakuzas and criminal families is pretty accurate. The gameplay in terms of combat has also been diversified for me, being able to switch combat styles during fights is a great way to cater to different styles of play. Exploring the world is also pretty interesting seeing the streets of Tokyo and discovering all of the side content in the game which I plan to experiment more with in the future.

Yakuza 0 Session #1
Yakuza 0 I have to say I honestly didn't know what to expect from this game. It is a title that I pretty much knew nothing about before I started the playthrough. I can say that what I have experienced so far has been very interesting to me, and has kept my interest. One big thing I noticed about this game is that it is very story heavy and right off the bat the beginning of the game was front-loaded with cutscenes. The cutscenes are well directed and the fact that game doesn't have English voice actors makes me really pay attention to the on-screen subtitles. So far the gameplay that I have experienced has been pretty linear however, that is not a bad thing as long as the game keeps me intrigued. I didn't really know what a Yakuza was or what they did until I experienced this game, I look forward to learning more snippets about Japanese culture through this game. The combat albeit simple is pretty good and doesn't feel too clunky which or a chore to do. I did get a kick out of the karaoke rhythm minigame I wasn't expecting the game to have so much variety in the gameplay. This game I think will give me plenty of ethical issues to explore in the game and even possibly issues surrounding the game.
