Very little has changed in both the story and in the gameplay. I'm still getting penalized for being a straight edged cop in a completely exaggerated and lopsided way, and the mafia are still there, although I frequently elect not to employ them. This game's story really isn't provoking any thought anymore, and the gameplay has utterly bored me. I wouldn't really recommend this game to anyone else.

On my second play session, I found that it seemed like a lot of my decisions either really didn't mean anything in the long run, or they had shitty consequences simply because the game was trying to make a pretentious point about systematic discrimination or something similarly controversial and topical.
I've encountered the mafia and somehow joined them without trying to, which is even more baffling because I was trying to play as a straight-edged completely lawful cop. So all of my lawful, justice oriented decisions have led me to becoming a willing part of the mafia, and I'm feeling a heavy ludo-narrative dissonance. I'm not liking the way the story is stapling me to one specific critical path after offering me the illusion of choice and freedom.

The story so far is pretty interesting, although unfocused. The gameplay is honestly just a worse version of XCOM/FTL, although I think the choices are slightly more engaging than XCOM's, but not as well designed as FTL's. The actual ethics are a little shaky because it assumes that you're either the squeaky clean straight edge cop or the second coming of the antichrist with no middle ground. So it's an interesting concept, but overall I think the narrative is trying really hard to be something more than it is.
