I don't think the coin system really matters. It's just great to know that you'll gain a life after gathering up a hundred coins. However, if you can beat the game with five lives or less, who really cares about getting every single coin, right? Well, I apparently do though. Anyway, Mario is a addictively classic game because of its awesome puzzles and traps that rely both on brain and reflexes. It has simple, but varied designs and also various enemies with their own special behavior patterns and abilities. People may not play this game as much anymore or even play this game, but we all know that this game was the best and it's still fun to play now.

So after playing this game again for another hour or so, I'm doing a lot better. I haven't lost as much life as I did. It doesn't really matter if I lose all my lives anyway since I can't just select 'continue' from the menu. Selecting 'continue' lets me play from where I left off and the minigames (Toad Houses and Hammer Brothers battles) will be open for me to choose and play. Contradicting what I said from my last post, I think I can beat this game because dying is not really an issue here. I'll be able to beat this game even if I die a lot. I know the enemies/monsters aren't deadly, especially since they are amusingly adorable, but I tend to do stupid things like run straight toward an enemy because I forgot to press the 'jump' button.
This game is simple, yet intriguing. Each level is not really the same. Sometimes I'll start out running on normal land, sometimes I'll be swimming my way to get on land, and sometimes I'll be flying through the air with my cute racoon outfit. However, I'd prefer wearing the frog outfit when I'm underwater because I'll be able to have great control in the water just like I have great control on land. Mario may look a bit ridiculous in that outfit, but whatever helps is always a benefit.

Playing the game again, I lost a lot of lives and barely passing each level as the smallest Mario. I'm not the kind of player that likes to rush through the game and beat each level without getting all the coins and such. The thing about this game is that I am the one controlling where I want to go and which level I want to choose (when there are split roads on the map). Usually, I just play each level in numerical order. What I love most is the power-ups in this game. I think the power-ups are what makes this game special and unique. The abilities of the cute outfits or transformations are totally awesome and not to mention cute. I like to focus on the cuter aspects of any game I play because, well, I'm a girl. I don't like playing games with ugly creatures or play as an ugly hero.
Well, I think this is as much as I want to say about Super Mario Bros. 3 for now. I need to save some stuff for my next post.

So what do I have to say about Super Mario Bros. 3? Well, I think practically everyone would agree that this is one of the best games created. Who didn't fall in love with this Italian plumber who only wanted to save his princess and keep his world safe from Bowser? He may be a little plump and have a huge mustache on his face, but he is a hero that achieved great success in the past and is still gaining much success. Mario is the quintessential icon for platform games. Super Mario Bros. 3 is 2D and simple. The graphics may not be the best, but it doesn't look bad. In fact, it looks adorable.
Anyway, I've never actually beat Super Mario Bros. 3, let alone master this game, when I played this game at the age of around 6 or so. I don't think I'll ever really beat this game because I just suck, but it doesn't mean that I don't love this game. I like playing single player mode because I like to know how far I progressed and that I'm the one beating each level. I just like the fact that I'm the one beating each level with my own abilities, even though I never beat the overall game. So, I'm not a pro at this game and I still don't know all the secrets in the game. I know, I know. I'm a failure.
