As I finish my second session for this game I was thinking I remember playing the original Super Mario Bros. on the NES and then playing the third one. It wasn't until years later that I played the second one. I wonder if that was just with me or with a lot of other people also. Was it because the second is just so different from the first that Nintendo was wary of bringing over here or was it that not that many people liked it. I don't think the latter is the case here though as almost everyone I know that has played the second has loved it. The level designs for the second one were equally as great as the ones on the third one in my opinion. Back to the third one though and I remember how much I hate those sand levels. I don't know why I always have, and not just for Mario games. I think I can honestly say that for all games that I play. I hate sand levels.

Super Mario Bros. 3 was one of the first games I ever beat. I remember playing it and just enjoying it so much I didn't want it to end. So now that I'm going back to it for this game log I was really excited to play. After I played for the first 45 minutes I really noticed that the level designs for this game are outstanding, especially the flying pirate ship levels. The way the entire game was designed definitely paved the way for countless of other games after that. In the time I played I only got past the first boss since I had been pretty rusty on my Mario skills. It's been a while since I've played a 2-D side scroller. The graphics ,though I remember them as better when I was young, still aren't too bad. I mean, of course you can't compare them to anything on the playstation 3 or xbox 360 but they definitely get it out done and leave me etremely satisfied. I'm much happier with much better gameplay than flashy graphics with no suvstance.
