I just beat the game again.(Ive lost count of how manny times ive played and beaten it. I enjoy this game a bit too much) I like how it takes a good amount of time to go through the game from start to finish, so the game isnt too short and isnt too easy to beat.
One of the things I enjoy most about newer games is the fact that, even after you have beaten the game, there are still extra items and things you can get and side missions you can do. The extra missions for Kingdom Hearts 2 are both challenging and rewarding if defeated, allowing you to unlock easter eggs such as seeing a battle between Cloud and Sephiroth from FF7 and obtaining superb wepons and accessories to further up your stats. You gotta admit, getting Final Form to level 7 and having the Ultimate Wepon keyblade make beating the end of the game again a little more fun.

To be honest you're the first person I've heard say KH2 was better than the first one. I'm not interested in anything being right or wrong, but I would say it indicates your interests in game design likely fit into a different Niche than many other gamers.
So, if you're interested, think about the things that were better from Kingdom Hearts II as opposed to Kingdom Hearts, and the things you felt were worse. Try making a scale of how important you think each of the differences are, and see how your list of priorities compare with other people's. If you find you have a unique priority set, it probably indicates there is a market for a game prominently presenting those features, perhaps a market niche that the big corporations haven't hit yet dead on.
It's just a thought.
So, if you were planning to make an action RPG, how would you go about starting? What things do you think either or both the Kingdoms Hearts games got right and wrong on the most fundamental level? How would you construct a game that doesn't conflict with the mainstream RPG market while still keeping in mind the elements nessicary to build a fun and interesting game?
