Sonic the Hedghog is to Sega what Super Mario is to Nintendo. Sonic is a character that sparked a whole genre. I am not very familiar with the story in this game, but after palying the game I would say its about a rescue mission. Throughout the game Sonic is on a mission to rescue woodland creatures, animals like rabbits, squirrels, and little birds. Sonic is battling it out with a mad scientist, who has robot insects working for him.

Sonic > Mario.
