thisisnotjay's GameLog for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (XBX)

    Friday 12 January, 2007

I found this game to be highly enjoyable, but there were also a lot of defects with this game. The dreamcast version of this game is a lot better. I also found numerous glitches in the xbox version and the gameplay is a lot slower and laggier.

Apparently, the point of this game is that you have a team of 3 different characters, and all you do is try to beat the opponent's characters. The game is very fast-paced, and it takes a lot of practicing and adapting to the conditions of the game before you can truly get used to it. The moves are fairly easy to learn as well, but the timing to execute the moves is really hard.

The whole game takes about 15-25 minutes to beat, and after you beat it, you can get bonus points to unlock new characters in the game. I'm mostly frustrated, because after beating it for the 10th time, I still can't unlock Magneto, which is the best character. So for now, I'm just stuck with Cable, Sentinel, and Captain Commando, who all do the most damage in the game, and are also the hardest to control.

    Where's your second entry?

Hehe, so the version on the microsoft console is more glitchy and laggy? hmm... *giggles*

So, what do you think about the construction of the game? What sort of dynamics made it something you enjoyed playing? Do you wish it were easier to unlock characters? Do you like games that reward repetative play...I.E. requiring more replays to unlock things than can be reasonably expected in one sitting? Or do you prefer games that give a skilled enough player quicker gratification?
