thisisnotjay's GameLog for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (XBX)

    Thursday 18 January, 2007

After beating the game another 3 times, I finally unlocked Magneto. My Magneto-Sentinel-Storm lineup is finally complete.

Anyways, the dynamics about this game that I enjoy most are that it's fast-paced, and you are expected to execute combos with perfect timing, which is something that most other games don't have. Every level in the game is the same, and even though it's repetitive, I still enjoy it very much. The main point of playing this game isn't to beat it, but to gain more skills. The main reason I also play this game is so that I can beat other top players in the arcade. This game can also be the hardest game in the world to play, because your quickness and timing have to be perfect. If you ever watch how the top players in the world play, you'll be amazed at how fast their fingers are moving. If I can relate it to anything, it'd be like typing 150 words per minute.

This is actually one of the things I didn't like about MvC 2. The character-specific stages, music, and high-quality sound-samples were replaced with like 2 songs for the entire game, some generic 3D stages, and the sound samples were crappified. Even some of the sprites were nuked. Just look (and listen to!) the difference between MvC Ryu and MvC2 Ryu. The production values in this game are inconsistent is what I'm trying to get at I guess.
