Caligo's GameLog for Katamari Damacy (PS2)

    Katamari Damacy (First Entry)

I started this game pretty late last night, and found some of the controls confusing, I can't really get the charged spin to work. But I'm getting ahead of myself. This game is a Japanese game that doesn't really make any sense. The King of the Cosmos got piss drunk and destroyed all the stars. As his son it is your duty to make new stars by rolling the object around that picks up items smaller than it.
For each star, the king transports you to a house on Earth, where you roll around picking up tacks and coins, then and candy, and then cards, and then forks, then cats and dogs, until in some levels you can even pick up humans.
After the fourth star I got bored of the colorful graphics and repetitive songs. I'm not particularly fond of the controls, but I find the King's random tirades hilarious.

OK, for your second entry, see if you can tease out why the level design caused you to be bored by the fourth star. Is there some aspect of the game design that could be improved? Or is it the case that you just weren't inspired by the storyline and fictional setting of the game?

Also, in your next post see if you can be more descriptive of your own game play session, and your own experiences, rather than just describing the game itself. While it's important to describe the game well enough so that others can understand what it is you're playing, it's also important that your own personal reflections on the gameplay come through as well.
