Super Smash Bros. Melee...
I have been playing this game on and off for about a year now, and I amazed that it is the only game that I have ever played, that has not lost its appeal over time. If anything, the appeal of Smash grows more with age.
How does this game do this...?

Not losing appeal over time is one of the key points of a strong competitive game. Basically, the gameplay remains interesting because you can keep on learning new skills and exploiting smaller and smaller enemy mistakes.
Bad competitive games, meanwhile, get less and less interesting the more you play them. Usually things devolve into one or two winning tactics and moves, and there's no real mistakes to exploit.
