There are a few things that I can’t stand about FF XII one of which is the license system. It is almost like the FF X system for gaining abilities except you can’t see where anything is placed. This was a problem for me because I couldn’t really plan the attributes each character was going to have. Also you had to use the license system for character development of physical attributes like hp, mp, magick strength, defense, etc. Furthermore, once you use your license points to get a certain ability you have to go buy that ability. The license system also governs weapons and armor which makes it hard for the player to have the right equipment. I found money is not that easy to come by as well as weapons and armor.
I also don’t like the summoning system because it takes all the mp away from the player and reduce your party to two. Also summoning doesn’t seem to do that much damage. I generally like to use the mist system over a summoning because you can chain the mist attack together. A mist attack is basically more powerful special attack.
I feel like the bosses in the game are really hard too and that you almost always have to use a mist chain in order to survive. Even though there are some things I can’t stand I think it’s an ok game overall.

I agree. The license board is kind of annoying but, once you get further into the game, you will have everything filled out. Three of my characters have completed their license boards and the others are about 200 or so points away(I used an accessory to double the points they recieve).
I also agree about the bosses. I had to use Mist Chains on some of the bosses in order not to be slaughtered. Of course, there are some bosses, like the Mandragoras and Dr. Cid, who you would not want to use Mist attacks on even if you had to because they are just too fun.
