Entry #2
Game Play
When I came back to play more I realized that this game's controls were very sensitive and you have to be very steady to have any success. I enjoyed having to shoot targets with rockets. The game had multiple views for each category, which came in very handy depending on whether you were flying or shooting rockets or photos. The game had some very hard tasks and some tough flying throughout all of the levels. I enjoyed the game because it was easy to progress each time you play the levels.
I also enjoyed that you couldn't beat every level first try, or get a gold medal, which increases game play length. I thought that was an effective and easy way to make a games game play value higher by making the difficulty high. The levels were neat because there were always cool things around to look down upon while you are soaring overhead.
Design
This game was very innovative. Being almost like a flight simulator, Nintendo was able to recreate the actual difficulty of flying. The controls are super sensitive and almost like an actual control stick. Also with the simple graphics they were able to fit a game of this type onto the N64. The levels were simple but very different. sometimes it was snowing, sunny, windy, and all different kinds of flying conditions. This added to the difficulty and variety of scenery greatly.
The game is pretty much progressive the entire time. You just have set tasks and tests to pass, and you just have to do well on your time, landing, and executing your other task to the level. I enjoyed the rewards of more secret games, because they are very fun to play. The reward screen is pretty simple and just a graphic that says in all shiny words GOLD MEDAL CONGRATULATIONS. Overall I thought this was a pretty new and daring game for the N64, and I find it very fun to play.
