Jetgirl's GameLog for Silent Hill 4: The Room (XBX)

This game is really amazing. I don't tend to play the Survival Horror games. I picked this one up for research for a paper.

But it is so creepy, it really gets under my skin. I can only play in small doses at a time. But I love the small doses.

I played a little of the previous Silent Hill game, but so far I am enjoying this one way more. Part of it I think is the setting itself. When you come back from an alternate world to the apartment, you have a moment to catch your breath and think over what has happened so far. In the last game, it was run-run-run-run-run.

In general I prefer psychological horror, and the attention paid to the set designs is amazing in delivering that trepidation.

Oooh! I really enjoyed Silent Hill one...until I raeched a certain point that, if I had had the game designers sitting in the room with me, I would have killed them . Damn game design problems. (short version: tough enemy monster, no life left, no ammo nearby, no way to win the game without starting over)

I look forward to hearing how this one goes since I might be about ready to forgive them... ;-)

Well. I prefer Silent Hill 3 :P maybe its because its more
"speedrun friendly" thant SH4 ;D only got down to 2 hours on SH4 yet,
its really taxing on your nerves sometimes =D

it all runs smoothly the first part of the game (Around 30 minutes)
but then, things starts to get a little rough =D=D=D

Havent played the first Silent Hill yet, maybe its about time :)

That is pretty funny, saying you want to speed-run these games. Do you play them over and over again then?

I think we are looking for different experiences out of them. ;)

    Five Stars for SH3.

One special thing about this game was his story... if you play once, you'll be playing many hours. Because of the 3rd game I became addicted for survival horror games. I actually have all de SH games but the one.

Any other game with this quality ?
