    Gamelog Entry #4 (part 2)

    Gameplay

It is definitely one of my favorite games of all time and although the graphics are basic as opposed to those of the playstation 3 and xbox 360, the intesity of fun of this game i would say is still equal. You can also activate weapons to help assist your character in battle. These weapons include: laser swords, bats, bombs, mines, shells, bumpers. There are even hearts which, when you use, brings down your precentage, and stars which give you invincibility for a certain amount of time. I love fighting others players and getting in a rhythm of hitting them and throwing them and kicking them out of the arena. Its also fun when you get really good with certain character and you can use all there special moves. My favorite character is fox who is one of the quickest characters. i love using his smash attack which is a big kick, and i love doing round house kicks.

I've realized after playing this game for several hours with my friends that it is one of the most addictive games and should have a label on it saying "beware, you will study less with this game." It is fun. It's clear that it is all about timing and being able to use a move quicker then an opponent or counter his move. Also blocking is very critical and a player that knows how to block will always do well. I'm not very good at blocking because thats more strategic, i'm more of a 'go after everone with my strongest moves' player then the block, attack, block, attack players. Using fox i do win the almost every game because i've come to use my quickness and timing as an advantage to stay alive longer and kill more people.

Out of all the weapons my favorite is definitely the homerun bat. It is used in a way that if you time your swing perfectly you will kill anyone automatically which is really fun. My room mate always uses Yoshi and every time he attacks me he is so slow that i always smack the Sh** out of him with one hit on the bat. It is really hard to play this game while being quiet, we've tried it when playing at 2 in the morning and our hall mates are always frustrated. We apologize and try to keep it down but the game is too fun, and too addicting to stop. Now we've started to hold tournaments to bring in other players who might give a challenge.

    Design

The Design on the levels is very cool. The designers took aspects of each characters home and turned it into a level. Fox, in his game, is a fighter pilot on a spaceship and in his level you are fighting on top of a space ship. Yoshi's game takes place in a book called "Yoshi's Story" and in his level your playing on his home town which was directly from his game. Each level is different.

By playing this game i would love to design a very basic fighting game using well known characters such as sonic and mario. It seems like it would take a very long time to create it and i would need a much stronger and more advanced program then GameMaker. The challenges that the game provides in single player mode is the difficulty of the character your fighting against. There isn't a lot of variaty in this game its pretty much all about fighting either one other person or several other persons. The difficulty just comes from how good your opponent is.

The game keeps the player interested by the feeling you get when smashing your opponent out of the battle arena. That feeling is the key to the Super Smash Addiction. By battling your friends for several minutes non-stop and coming out on top makes the player want to continue playing. More so, when battling your friends non-stop for several minutes and getting close to winning but not quite doing it, makes you want to keep playing just as much.

The game makes use of space in a very interesting way. The characters in this game are three dimentional and the buildings and structers within the levels are three dimentional but the gameplay is only two dimentional. You can move your character from left to right in the game, and you can move him up and down, BUT you cannot move the character forward and backward. You are stuck on one dimention in the level and cannot move away from it. Ultimately this game is a fairly simply design but was creating ingeniously, because it is definitely a classic.

This is perfectly fine, and about what we're looking for. Good job.

PS. I'm not going to mark you down for it, but you are in college, so please try to capitalize and punctuate correctly. Just take a bit more care in the future, okay?
