    GAMEPLAY:
I thought this game was pretty fun, now that I got the hang of what was going on and I knew what to expect. I was actually looking foward to each new world to enter, and I didn't even take a break playing for a while! I guess this is one of those games you have to play for a while to get the hang of, which is remarkable for its time.
I can see how this was a classic for its time, because you're able to move around in a world and actually choose your next level. I thought that was cool, because they are different paths you can take to get to the princess and you get to choose which way to go. Plus, it's kind of like you're playing even when choosing a level, because at some points you have to avoid a hammer-throwing guy and catch up to a flying ship. This was creative, and interesting for its time, and impressed me even now.
I liked the little bonus lives and tokens you can get, too, as well as the little easter eggs in the game.

    DESIGN:
This game is pretty well designed, from the level structures to the aesthetics. Each level seems different to me, even though they are all linear and have the same goals. Maybe it's the little things that make them different and fun to play, and there are a lot of little things. The Easter Eggs I found amusing, I remember at one point Mario got turned into a frog, and then I was able to hop around in a frog suit for a whole level! What fun. This gives me the idea of having little Easter Eggs, for my own fun and for the fun of the player.
The controls were really the only problem I had with this game. I kept dying because it was confusing as to whether I could fly or not with the raccoon tail and how high Mario could jump.
I liked the overall tone of this game, which was whimsical. The colors and characters definately brighten up the game, and they brightened up my day when I played this game.

    Well-written, if a little brief.
