GAMEPLAY
After playing Wii Sports longer I have some comments. I feel that the gameplay gets dull after awhile if you are playing alone. There is no story involved to keep you going and going until you finish. I feel that to have a long and lasting game session you need to have friends all playing and going against each other. Competition is what really drive games. To have a game where you are competing not only on gaming ability but also in a physical way. This elevates the competitiveness side of things immensely. To have two people boxing against each other is actually very fun. They are both standing next to each while controller their character in the game and they are punching and moving around the play area. Wii Sports really is something new when it comes to interactive game play. With friends or at a party I think this is one of the best games that you could put on to play. Really fun.
DESIGN
The design of Wii Sports is interesting. It is a very minimal game other than the the movement and interactive control system. The graphics are just enough to get by. The game itself would never hold up if it were not for the controls.
The interesting things is that it works. The controls are enough to keep people playing and having fun with this game. The creators were able to get away with other things being minimal while having the control system be brand new and unique. It also helped that everyone who has a Wii should have got this game with it. Ti served as a great introduction to the control scheme and the system itself.
One thing that I would like to point out however is that as interesting and unique the movement and controller system is, it is far from perfect. To make the bat swing it is really just move the controller in the right direction at the right speed. It is like triggering a set control "button". I feel that the controls are actually very limiting.
It would be truly amazing if while you are waiting for the pitch, you move the controller a little, or you shift your weight to the left and the character on the screen displays your movements. When you swing it is precisely because your controller swung.

Good observations, if brief. Technically it's late, but not by much, so I won't penalize.
