    Monday 22 February, 2010

This is my second day of game play and I finally got past the hall monitors and cameras without getting noticed. I got back to the parking lot, got my black bag and went to the hill to meet up with Dylan. The black bag had a large number of weapons in them. There was a shot gun, machine gun, sub machine gun, a bunch of knifes, and like three different bombs. This is a surprise and it definitely promotes violence.

I also wanted to touch on the subject of race in this game. When the bombs did not go off it was then time for me to start killing everyone (I think I was supposed to do) in the school. When I entered the school students started to notice me and the battle screen was popped up. I stereotyped each person I fought against. Some of the names I have these students were “Preppy Boy, Gay Guy, Goody Good Girl, Popular Girl, and Church Boy.” In this game you can’t avoid people and we have to in a way fight them.

It is clear that Eric my character hated everyone and hand no mercy to even the “Church Boy” in the library, they were just angry with the people around them. I just wondered around the school fighting people and trying to figure out what the next step would be. Eric used these people as a means to his end he did not care about death because in the beginning he told us that everyone dies and it was just their time to go.

Wait, so the game promotes violence because there are weapons in it? Does it make a difference that the game is documenting something that really happened?
