Monday:
I would like this post to focus on images. Images and depictions are some of the most powerful influential media methods. As they say, actions speak louder than words. I will confidently make the claim that the same goes for images, including those in Columbine Massacre RPG. Although the images in this game aren't violently worse than images in Elf Bowling, combined with a number of things they are very bad images.
First, someone that came across the game that may have ties to or could be affected by the real event, could be affected by the actual pictures of the killers in the game. The people you kill are just random depictions of stereotypes, but the killers are made after the real killers, and it shows actual images of them.
This combined with the images of the school make it that much worse. What I found shocking is when you go to kill people, whether it be in the hallway, parking lot, classroom, or cafeteria, it shows actual images from columbine high school in the background as you are killing them. Even though the dying people and dead people aren't graphically bad, the idea with it along with the true images actually make it worse.
These bad things are unethical and immoral on the level of personal attack, and not necessarily unethical or immoral to all people. Although others could still be offended, it is mostly attacking the people actual involved with the attacks, which make it seem like a personal attack. This creates and arises more ethical dilemmas because it is more specifically targeted.
