So, this is the first time I've played GTA from the beginin with any kind of intention to actually play the 'game' at hand rather than explore. I found the opening cinematics engaging enough and they gave me a firm grasp of my character and where he just came from. This quickly degenerated though. I managed to complete the first couple of quests from Luigi, though they were little more than delivery missions. The missions so far, are terribly unengaging and left me without a coherent sense of direction (in terms of what I should do next).

I always found that, initially at least, I would get lost to easily and thus bomb the missions... this isn't the sort of game you can pick up and play (if you want to advance the story). :-(
